Welcome
You are very welcome here
Welcome to the third stage of the Following Jesus pathway. Begin helped you take your first steps: the gospel, new life in Christ, and first steps in Scripture, prayer and church. Establish helped you understand what Christians believe and how that truth shapes life. Grow asks a more personal question: how does Jesus reshape my character, relationships, decisions and ordinary life?
Over twelve lessons we look at grace and growth, renewing the mind, the character of Christ, emotions and wounds, forgiveness and reconciliation, loving others, the body and relationships, work and money, words and conflict, guidance and decisions, suffering and doubt, and a sustainable rhythm of life with God.
Grow is about becoming like Jesus over time. It is not a self-improvement programme, and it is not a ladder to climb to earn God’s love. It begins where all Christian growth begins: with grace.
If you are starting with Grow, you are very welcome. If the Christian gospel is new or unclear to you, we recommend watching Begin, Lesson 1 first. It explains the good news of Jesus that everything in Grow builds on. If you are still exploring who Jesus is, you are welcome too.
Every practice is an invitation, not a test. No one will ask you to read aloud, pray aloud or share your personal story. You can take Grow on your own, with a friend or mentor, or with a church group; one lesson a week works well.
If you or someone else needs support or urgent help at any point, start with the Support Page “Safety and Support: Start Here”.
Inside each lesson
Five movements
- 1Read the ScriptureThe main passage, read aloud, with the first question: what does it say?
- 2Understand the original meaningOne Hebrew or Greek word, only where it really helps the main passage.
- 3Explore the backgroundThe setting of the passage, and where it connects in the Bible’s larger story.
- 4Understand the teachingA short answer and four memorable parts, with a fair note where Christians differ.
- 5Practise what you have learnedA short story, common mistakes, this week’s assignment, and a prayer.

My Growth
Six areas of growth
Each lesson belongs to one of six areas. At the end of the course, you will bring them together on your own private page: My Growth in Following Jesus. These are prompts for reflection, not a maturity score.
